Benjamin Franklin

The essay Remarks Concerning the Savages of North America, written by Benjamin Franklin goes against many of the commonly accepted ideas regarding Native Americans. A majority of the American colonists of the time viewed Natives as little more then savages, Franklin goes to show the point that the Natives, although not advanced by European standards are none the less generous kind people when left undisturbed. He goes to show that the social structure of the Natives also promotes generosity unlike that of european society, this is somewhat suppressing as I would have imagined his view to be much aligned with that of the society he lived amongst.
